Choosing a username and securing your account

Your username is what other players see in chat, on the leaderboard, and in party voice chat. It's permanent on signup, so pick something you'd be comfortable seeing on a stream three years from now.

Username rules

• 3–32 characters
• Letters, numbers, and underscores only
• Not already taken
• Not a slur, an admin name, or anything that impersonates staff

Securing the account

Three things, in order:

1. Use a strong, unique password. If you're reusing the same password you use everywhere else, change it now. A password manager (1Password, Bitwarden, the one built into your browser) makes this painless.
2. Verify your email. Without it, you can't reset the password if you lose access, and you can't withdraw above the small-amount threshold.
3. Enable two-factor authentication. Even if someone gets your password, 2FA stops them cold. We support TOTP apps like Authy, Aegis, or Google Authenticator.

A note on display names

Your name is separate from your username — it's what shows up at the top of your profile and can be changed any time. Only the username is permanent.
